The Lie (1)

I am responsible for my children’s mistakes

The Truth:

II Corinthians 5:10: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due us for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil

Receive: obtain

Speak the Truth: I’m sorry for what I’ve done wrong, but my children are ultimately responsible for their own mistakes

The Lie (2)

No one should tell me how to raise my kids.

The Truth:

Proverbs 19:20: Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.

Wise: to be wise in mind, word, or act

Speak the Truth: I will listen to advice so I can become a wise person.

The Lie (3)

Because of my mistakes, my child will never get back on the right path

The Truth:

Proverbs 16:9 A person’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps

Determines: sets up

Speak the Truth: God is determining my child’s steps.
