Hi there! This is Marilyn.

Welcome to Patron’s Place, my private support community.

I have been in the ministry in one capacity or another for most of my adult life. My late husband and I pastored a few churches—one for fourteen years. We served the people of Northern Mexico for many years, supplying food and clothing and ministering to their spiritual needs.

I stood with my husband in all these endeavors, but after his death, God began to lead me into a different ministry. A ministry uniquely my own. I started to write. I wrote articles and blog posts—and I pulled out an idea God had given me years before and started writing a book. The Struggle for Love: The Story of Leah.

Oh, it had several names before that name stuck. And it had several beginnings and endings and middles before I pushed the “publish” button. But it finally made its way out into the world, and so many readers have said it has brought them to tears and to a deeper appreciation of the Bible.

I believe this is what God has called me to do. Write books and faith articles that move readers’ hearts and draw them closer to Jesus. It’s a ministry. Just as our pastoring and missionary work was a ministry.

I came late to this calling, but I’m making up for lost time. It’s never too late and you’re never too old to do what God has gifted you to do. Unfortunately, my time is divided with my writing and a part-time job. I would love to be able to spend more time getting all those stories floating around in my mind onto paper. But to do that, I need help. The less time I spend working at a desk to pay bills, the more time I can spend writing at one.

In the past, artists of all stripes had patrons who supported them so they could have the time to do their creative work. Even Shakespeare had patrons!

I would love to find some special people who would like to help

How ?

With finances, for sure, but also with their prayers and encouragement. I’d love to have people that I can bounce ideas off. People who will read early chapters and offer their insights. Who will be part of what God has called me to do.

And if you become one of them, I’d love to know about your calling as well so I can pray for you and we can truly become partners in the faith.
